A pair of $1 million prizes were claimed by Massachusetts State Lottery players on Friday.
The winning tickets were from the lottery’s “$25,000,000 Mega Money” and “100X” games. They were sold at 200 Food Mart in Quincy and Village Liquor & Mini Mart in Baldwinville, which is one of Templeton’s four primary settlements.
The chances of winning $1 million, the third largest prize available, in “$25,000,000 Mega Money” are 1 in 2.1 million. When the game debuted, there were a total of 12 such prizes available, six of which have already been claimed.
The chances of winning $1 million, the second-largest possible reward, in “100X” are one in 1.57 million. When the game first opened, there were nine such prizes available, three of which have already been claimed.
Tickets for “$25,000,000 Mega Money” cost $50, while those for “100X” cost $10.
Also on Friday, a lottery player won $470,915 playing “Timber Wolf,” one of the lottery’s relatively new online games.
Overall, at least 960 prizes totaling $600 or more were won or claimed in Massachusetts on Friday, with 14 in Springfield, 18 in Worcester, and 52 in Boston.
Every day, the Massachusetts State Lottery distributes a complete list of winning tickets. The list only contains winning tickets worth more than $600.
The greatest lottery prize won in Massachusetts this year was $25 million. It was a “$25,000,000 Mega Money” ticket purchased at a Cumberland Farms petrol station in Turners Falls, Montague’s largest of five communities.
