A man was apprehended after a historic church in Ohio went up in flames.
A 19-year-old man is charged with felony arson after a fire damaged a historic unoccupied church on Cleveland’s east side.
According to court documents, John McManamon was arraigned Wednesday morning. He is being jailed under a $10,000 bond.
According to investigators, a real-time crime camera captured an automobile approaching Friendship Baptist Church before the August 21 fire started. They claim that three persons entered the church to participate in a social media trend.
The blaze destroyed the vacant church, and Cleveland fire officials announced earlier this week that investigators were looking into a photo from a social media post that sparked concerns about the fire’s cause.
