Four people were hospitalized when a Polk County ambulance crashed in Poinciana on Saturday morning, according to officials.
A Polk County Fire Rescue ambulance with lights and sirens was responding to a call at 11:20 a.m. on September 12.
While traveling through the intersection of Bayberry Street and Marigold Avenue, the ambulance collided with a huge dump truck, appearing to be head-on.
The incident also included a third vehicle, a white sedan. Photos show the automobile on the grassy shoulder, with significant damage to the front and back.
PCFR said four people were hurt, including both ambulance first responders and one occupant from each of the other two vehicles.
The incident’s details are unknown, and it’s unclear if any drivers will be charged. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
