One lucky Augusta resident won big last week while playing the Georgia Lottery.
The Georgia Lottery reports that a $1 million top prize scratch-off ticket was claimed on September 11. The ticket was purchased at Richmond Hill Market on Richmond Hill Road West in Augusta.
Another person won $297,933 in the September 11 Fantasy 5 draw. The ticket was purchased at the Raceway gas station on Wrightsboro Road in Augusta. That ticket supposedly matched all five winning numbers, 01-16-33-36-38.
According to the Georgia Lottery, the proceeds from ticket purchases benefit education in Georgia.
