Two women were apprehended Saturday after allegedly attacking another woman over a personal dispute, according to the Rockford Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of North Court Street at 10:35 a.m. to investigate a suspected battery.
According to investigators, surveillance video captured the victim going southwest from the 100 block of North Court Street when 38-year-old Latanya Holiday and 40-year-old Chrystal Anders began following her.
According to detectives, Holiday tackled the victim to the ground and punched her numerous times, while Anders kicked her while she lay below Holiday.
According to officials, witnesses broke up the fight, and the woman was sent to a local hospital with injuries to her back, arms, and head.
Court filings reveal that when authorities asked Holiday why the fight started, she stated that she had previous issues with the victim and accused her of harassment. Anders informed officers that the woman had previously “messed with her husband,” according to court filings.
Holiday and Anders were detained and accused with several crimes, including aggravated violence in a public place and mob action.
Both are being incarcerated at the Winnebago County Jail.
