A person died in a crash on State Route 67 near the San Vicente Reservoir in East County late Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on SR-67, north of Slaughterhouse Canyon Road, before 11 a.m.
According to the Lakeside Fire Protection District, one vehicle crossed the lane and was struck by a semi-truck.
Officials tell FOX 5/KUSI that three people were taken to a local hospital, some of whom are allegedly in their 70s. Lakeside Fire reports that they are in stable but serious condition. One adult died on the scene.
Around midday, CHP El Cajon reported that southbound SR-67 was closed due to a crash. Drivers were advised to avoid the area, expect delays, and take other routes.
