A man is facing charges after an alleged fight involving a gun and a machete at a TriMet station last week, court documents show.
According to an affidavit filed in Multnomah County court, police were summoned to the Gateway Transit Center on Thursday, Oct. 15, in response to a suspected gun fight.
Officers arrived at the station, which is located at the junction of Northeast 99th Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street, and discovered 45-year-old Tobias Ceasar Pacheco clutching a machete aboard a Max train.
“He had a gun,” Pacheco allegedly informed officers of the other person involved, subsequently identified as a juvenile.
Pacheco also alleged, “I cut his face with it,” in reference to the machete, and added, “I’m not going to let him get me first.”
“I went for his head; I was trying to go for his neck; I wanted to take his head off,” he told police as well.
Officers discovered the boy on a Max train, but he escaped to an adjacent parking structure and was apprehended.
Based on surveillance footage, a TriMet CCTV analyst assessed that the teenager most likely had a gun and seemed to toss it underneath a neighboring car.
He is facing many accusations, including attempted murder.
