Alleged ‘Highs’ gang member sentenced to more than 27 years in prison for Minneapolis fatal shooting

An alleged member of the “Highs” gang received a sentence in one of three murder cases  in which he was charged.

Marquan Deshaun Tucker, 21, pled guilty earlier this year to aiding and abetting second-degree murder and received a 329-month sentence (27 years and 5 months in prison). He will be credited for 696 days already served.

Tucker is thought to have helped kill 26-year-old Patrick Henderson outside a Minneapolis nightclub in 2023.

According to court papers, Henderson was shot around 4:20 a.m. on July 30, 2023, near the intersection of 26th Avenue and North Second Street, and later pronounced dead.

Henderson was a reported member of the “Lows” gang and is thought to have been slain for the benefit of the “Highs” gang, which Tucker is said to be a member of, according to court records.

In 2025, investigators interviewed two witnesses who said Tucker admitted to them that he had shot Henderson.

According to court filings, Tucker was messaging people on Facebook about attending the party prior to the murder. His phone was also present at the moment of the incident, and he promptly departed the scene.

Tucker also shot a Facebook video showing Henderson lying on the ground. The video’s captions celebrated Henderson’s death.

Tucker has been accused of two previous murders: the 2022 killing of a man at the Mall of America, in which he allegedly blocked a store entry, trapping the victim, and the 2024 shooting death of an alleged “Lows” gang member in Brooklyn Park.
