Memorial Day Observances Schedule

MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio – Memorial Day observances are set throughout the county on May 25, 2020. Memorial Day is a day to remember those that died while serving in the United States military.

In Racine, the annual observance will be held at the American Legion Post 602 at 10 a.m. Refreshments will follow the observance. American Legion Post 602 is located at 715 5th Street in Racine. The Southern Marching Band is set to play during the ceremony.

American Legion Post 39 will not be holding the annual observance at the Pomeroy Levee except for a brief remembrance fallen Naval personnel with the placing a wreath in the Ohio River which will take place at 10:15 a.m. Post 39 will be continuing their tradition of holding observances at cemeteries and other areas in Meigs County. At 10 a.m., an observance will be held at Bridge of Honor. There will still be observances at the following cemeteries: Rocksprings, 9 a.m.; Beach Grove, 9:15 a.m.; Beach Grove, 9:15 a.m.; Sacred Heart, 9:30 a.m.; Meigs Memory Gardens, 10:30 a.m.; Chester, 10:45 a.m.; and Hemlock Grove, 11 a.m.
