Meigs County construction update: Week of April 5, 2021

MARIETTA, Ohio – The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Meigs County in the coming weeks. All outlined work is weather permitting. Click on each route to see its location at OHGO.com.


SR 7 rockfall hazard – One northbound lane of SR 7 is closed between Howell Hill Road (Township Road 207) and SR 124 due to a rockfall hazard. Traffic could be delayed up to 15 minutes as a scaling crew works on the hillside for the next two to three weeks between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Estimated completion: December 31, 2021

SR 143 bridge replacement – A bridge replacement project begins on April 12 on SR 143, between Lee Road (Township Road 168) and Ball Run Road (Township Road 20A). One lane will be closed. Temporary traffic signals and a 10 foot width restriction will be in place. Estimated completion: November 15, 2021

County Road 5 Landslide Repair – County Road 5 (Mill Street) is closed due to a landslide repair project. Estimated completion: May 1, 2021

County Road 1 Bridge Replacement – A bridge replacement project is taking place on County Road 1 (Salem School Lot Road). The road is closed between Ogdin Road (Township Road 25) and Dyesville Road (County Road 27). The detour is County Road 1 to SR 143 north to SR 32 west to SR 689 south to SR 160 south to SR 124 east to County Road 1. Estimated reopening date: May 6, 2021
