Racine to Receive Infrastructure Project Funding

RACINE, Ohio – Racine is one of the communities receiving state support for an infrastructure project.

Communities across Ohio will receive grants to fund sidewalks, bridges, water and wastewater infrastructure, and public facility improvements. The Ohio Department of Development awarded grants totaling more than $6 million to 13 communities through the Community Development Critical Infrastructure program and more than $6 million to nine communities through the Neighborhood Revitalization program. The grants will benefit more than 35,000 Ohioans.

Meigs County will receive a $416,800 in Critical Infrastructure grant for sidewalk improvements in the village of Racine. The project will construct 2,250 linear feet of sidewalk along Yellowbush Road. The project will benefit 59 people.

“Investments in our communities are a key to ensuring the longevity and functionality of our public facilities,” said Governor DeWine. “Everyone deserves access to reliable infrastructure where they live and work.”

“This project is a good example of leveraging state resources to help improve local infrastructure and support local communities,” said State Representative Jay Edwards (R-Nelsonville). “This will have a positive impact in Racine.”
