Douglas “Dougie” Jenkins, 54, of Racine
Douglas “Dougie” Jenkins, 54, of Racine, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at his residence.
Born July 9, 1967 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of Darrell Jenkins and the late Linda Willis Jenkins. Dougie was a 1986 graduate of Meigs High School and a member of Local 207. Doug was very passionate about coaching youth sports watching his grandchildren and he enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing.
Along with his father, he is survived by his wife of 31 years Virginia Pickens Jenkins; five sons, Brandon Roush, Greg (Stephanie), Daniel (Brianna), Dru (Chey) and Dameson Jenkins; one daughter Dierra (Chad) Burrows; fourteen grandchildren; one brother DJ (Lois) Jenkins; one sister Destiny (Jeff) Mundy; four nephews and two nieces.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Mildred Hubbard (Dale Willis); paternal grandparents Fred and Lenora Jenkins; his mother-in-law Joan Pickens and a niece Chloe.
Funeral services will be on at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Ewing-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Pomeroy. Burial will be in the Letart Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Ewing-Schwarzel Funeral Home. Friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at ewingfuneralhome.net.
