Phyllis G. Gillmor

Phyllis G. Gillmor, 86, of Fremont, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Toledo Hospital. She was born November 9, 1936 in Racine, OH the daughter of Chester and Gladys (Clark) Van Meter. On August 11, 1969 she married  Harold “Bud” Gillmor at Old Fort United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on October 5, 1995.

Phyllis went on to teach 30 years for St. Joseph Elementary School. She was a member of St. Ann Church and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Surviving are her children: Dea Weltin of Perrysburg, Devan Gillmor of Fremont, Susan (Michael) Booher of Columbus and Sarah (Chris) Babione of Tiffin; grandchildren James Weltin, Catie Hade Akers and Max Babione; great-granddaughter Juniper Weltin; brother Dana Van Meter of Belpre, OH; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Roy Van Meter.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 2-4 & 5-7P.M. at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00A.M. on Thursday, at St. Ann Catholic Church. Fr. Matthew Frisbee will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
