Jeffery Wayne “Bodine” Whittington, 59, of Cheshire, OH, passed away unexpectedly, June 28, 2023, at Middleport, OH.

was born October 10, 1963, at Gallipolis, OH to the late Leslie Leroy Whittington, SR and Frances Jane (Fraley) Whittington. Jeff was one of a kind, had a heart of gold and would go out of his way to help anyone no questions asked. He was wild and free spirited like the wind. He loved the out doors and didn’t like for his roots to be in just one place, he was a wonderer. He worked as a laborer and carpenter.

Survived by siblings Leslie (Belinda Hinson) Whittington, JR, Lisa Klien, and Teresa “Buckwheat” (Jay Matthews) Whittington. step sisters Loretta Atkins and Shauna Doucet, nieces and nephews Preston Cook, Todd Klein, JR, Bricyan Cook, Nathaniel Cook, Travis Klein, Natasha Cook, Charles Cook, Leslie Klein, Blake Klein, Marshal Klein, and Sheyane Matthews, 35 great nieces and nephews. Jeff used to live with Chevy and Jake at there nanny’s. An aunt Mary Lou (Fraley) Erickson, many cousins and many friends.

Jeff was proceded in death by parents, step-mom Yvonne (Smith) Whittington, grandparents Randolph Fraley, Sr, Georgia (Long) Fraley, JoBob Whittington and Dorthy (Bartrum) Whittington, aunt Teeny Bug Whittington, uncle Randolph Fraley, JR, step-sister Sherry Davis, nephews Jacob Klein, Ryan and Brian Lemley, niece Lisa Marie Klein, and great niece Jasmine Klein.

A celebration of life will be held, Friday, July 7, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm at Birchfield Funeral Home, Rutland, OH. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be given to Birchfield Funeral Home, P. O. Box 188, Rutland, OH 45775 to help with Jeff’s expenses.
