The Meigs County Fair received 2,568 open class entries this past Friday and Saturday at the fairgrounds. The total number of entries were up from last year by 155, according to fair board secretary Debbie Watson.

The numbers by department are:

Farm crop entries in 2022 were only 192, but this year they are 305. Other areas have seen increased numbers including photography and antique displays. Last year the number of hay show entries was down to four, but this year 20 are listed as entering.

Not everyone that enters actually shows at the fair, but organizers are hoping to see as many entries show as entered.

Judging for some of the entries takes place before the fair, while others are held during the fair.

Little Miss and Mister interviews are held the Saturday before the fair. Little Miss and Mister are named along with the rest of the royalty following the Junior Fair parade on Sunday, August 13.
