COLUMBUS, Ohio — Annual Fall Color festivities will be offered by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) at the historic Hocking State Forest Cabin the weekend of Oct. 26. The events is family-friendly and offers a variety of autumn fun including beautiful fall colors.

“Time spent in Ohio’s state forests and nature preserves at any time of the year is time well spent,” said ODNR Director Mary Mertz. “During the fall season, these unique locations bring exceptional experiences as the beauty of Ohio’s natural features shines through.”

Hocking State Forest Fall Color Tour – Saturday, Oct. 26, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This annual event features wagon rides through the forest, educational displays and presentations, firewood processing and chainsaw safety demonstrations, wildfire fighting equipment, and refreshments. Professional foresters will provide tips on tree identification, best practices for forest and wildlife management, tree trivia, and much more. Visitors interested in hiking can access a shortcut to the Conkles Hollow State Nature Preserve Rim Trail from the historic Hocking State Forest Cabin.

Tours begin at the historic cabin, located across the road from the Hocking State Forest headquarters at 19275 State Route 374 in Rockbridge, Ohio 43149. Parking is available at the forest headquarters. All activities are located within walking distance from the parking area.
