University of Rio Grande in Precautionary Lockdown

An incident this morning, October 24, that occurred in the Village of Rio Grande led The University of Rio Grande to place campus on a precautionary lockdown. This also led Rio Grande Elementary to be placed on lockdown as well.

Classes at Rio Grande Campus are suspended for the day until further notice.

At this time reports suggest this lockdown is a result of a bank robbery in the area. Red Rose has not received confirmation at this time; however some sources are alleging a suspect is currently on the run, and the public is advised to stay away from the area.
