Police: Man Grabs Girl And Tries To Pull Her Into Car In West Woodlawn

Chicago police issued a warning regarding an attempted child luring incident on the South Side on Thursday.

According to police, the alleged incident happened between 3:15 and 3:45 p.m. as a girl was trying to walk home from East 63rd Street and South Langley Avenue in the West Woodlawn area.

The police said a driver got out of his car and hugged the girl before attempting to entice her into it by offering to pay for sex.

The girl managed to go a few blocks south before the man allegedly grabbed her wrist and attempted to drag her into his car, according to authorities.

The girl was able to reach a safe passage worker, and the suspect drove away eastbound on 66th Street.

The suspect is described as a 30- to 35-year-old male who is approximately 5-foot-9 and weighs around 210 pounds. He donned a black t-shirt with black jeans.
