Lakeland Man Detained On Felony Warrant And Meth Charges

A routine traffic stop on Saturday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a Lakeland man on an active felony warrant and new drug charges.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), Matthew Joseph Koscin, 40, was detained when a deputy witnessed him committing a traffic offense on September 20 at 3:48 p.m.

The deputy conducted a pedestrian check and discovered that Koscin had an active felony warrant for burglary out of Hillsborough County.

In addition to the warrant, Koscin was found with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was jailed and brought to the Sheriff’s Processing Center.

Koscin is facing an outstanding felony charge from Hillsborough County, as well as additional charges from Polk County for methamphetamine possession and drug paraphernalia.
