Sandra “Susie” Hutchinson, 71
Sandra “Susie” Hutchinson, 71, of Gallipolis, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born on March 23, 1942 in Huntington, West Virginia, daughter of the late Henry and Miriam Elliott Allison. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Gallipolis, Ohio. Susie started at a young age working in the church nursery and then went on to be the church Sunday School secretary for over 50 years.
She married Ralph Hutchinson on February 26, 1966. He loved her very much and was devoted to her until the very end. She leaves behind her son, Brett (Melissa) Hutchinson of Gallipolis and her daughter, Jackie (Jerry) Rediger of Columbus.
Also surviving are her two grandchildren, Elizabeth Keeton of Gallipolis and Jeremiah (JD) Rediger of Columbus; two sisters, Jean Gillespie and Judy (Russell) Fellure and one brother, Ronnie (Ruth) Allison, all of Gallipolis; five sisters-in-law, Sharon (Bill) Porter of Pt. Pleasant, WV, Louise Carroll of Ashland, Kentucky, Carol (Gary) Miller, Diane (Randy) Scott and Lena (John) Miller, all of Gallipolis; one brother-in-law, Ronnie (Patty) Hutchinson of Gallipolis; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Along with her parents, Susie was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jenna Sue Hutchinson, her father and mother-in-law, Ora and Gladys Hutchinson, two sisters-in-law, Jean Ross and Almeda Sue Shriver and four brothers-in-law Carl Gillespie, Lester Hutchinson, Jack Hutchinson and Robert Ross.
Susie enjoyed taking family vacations, playing games on her computer and IPad and spending time with her two grandchildren. Susie had a generous heart and loved giving to those in need. As part of her ministry, she was always faithful to acknowledge each of her church family member’s birthdays and anniversaries with cards.
Funeral services will be held at the Gallipolis First Church of the Nazarene on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Fulton and Pastor Douglas Downs officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the Gallipolis First Church of the Nazarene.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gallipolis First Church of the Nazarene in Susie’s memory.
Pallbearers are Henry Dillon, Tom Duncan, Ballard Howell, Roy Lane, Randy Scott and Ronnie Plantz.
