A drug task force in Wisconsin has formally submitted the results of a big drug raid that resulted in the seizure of more than 9 ounces of cocaine and $52,000 in cash.
According to a release from the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office, the major bust occurred in January during a Waukesha County Drug Task Force ‘Criminal Highway Interdiction Operation,’ which focuses on drug trafficking, illegal weapons, stolen cars, and other crimes that occur on major Wisconsin highways.
During the ‘Criminal Highway Interdiction Operation,’ a Menomonee Falls Police Department officer stopped a speeding motorist near Appleton Avenue and Ruby Road.
During the search of the speeding vehicle, investigators say they seized almost $52,000 in cash and more than 9 ounces of cocaine (with an estimated street value of more than $8,000).
As a result, authorities said, “A suspected dealer is off the streets, and dangerous drugs are out of our community.”
The motorist was apprehended during the traffic check and is now expected to face various criminal charges.
