Armed Felon Arrested in Tampa With Over 6 Grams of Cocaine

Deputies in Hillsborough County say they recovered a stolen Mercedes-Benz near Tampa after it was reported missing in Miami. Authorities allegedly found the suspect with the vehicle, along with drugs and a firearm.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest occurred on October 10, 2025, when deputies discovered Aaron Canario, 46, in possession of the stolen vehicle. Inside, police allegedly discovered an unassigned Florida license plate, more than six grams of cocaine, and a weapon.

Canario was detained and charged with armed possession of a controlled substance, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and felony possession of a firearm, according to authorities.

Deputies say the stolen Mercedes was reported missing in Miami before being located in the Tampa area. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has not provided any additional information on how the vehicle was located.

Authorities continue to urge citizens to report any suspicious cars or activities to local law enforcement.
