stars-storyCHESTER – The Kevin Fick Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser will be held at the Chester Community Center on Saturday, March 22 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Kevin passed away unexpectedly two years ago last November. He worked at Eastern and was dearly loved by his family, co-workers and friends. In honor of his life, they established a scholarship fund for Eastern High School graduates.

It is the second year for the sale, but this spring will be the third year they have awarded scholarships to Eastern High School graduates. To date, $8,500 has been awarded to students.
All of the monies collected will go to scholarships. Applications for the scholarships will be available at Eastern High Sschool in late April.

Items for sale will include a Queen Anne chair, housewares, jewelry, clothing, furniture, decorative bird cage, new fishing lures, Christmas decorations, bookcases, plants, toys, and many other items. There will be raffles including on for a HP Chromebook II with a case. Raffle tickets for the Chromebook are $5 each and participants do not need to be present to win. The other raffle is a baby quilt made by a friend of the family.  Tickets for the baby quilt are $1 each or 6 for $5. Baked goods for sale as well.

Brandon Bartee Studio has also donated a $300 gift certificate to raffle.

Last year’s scholarships were awarded to Marshall Aanestad, Tim Elam, Tim Minear, Kiana Osborne, Larissa Riddle.  They each received a $1000 scholarship.
