Carl B. Waugh, 85
Carl B. Waugh, 85, went home to Heaven early Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in the Holzer Senior Care Center, Bidwell, Ohio. He was surrounded by many loved ones during his final days. Carl was born July 5, 1928 in Bladen, Ohio to the late Homer and Lula (Simms) Waugh. He married Emma Lee Johnson Waugh January 3, 1949 at Catlettsburg, Kentucky, and together they were blessed with five children: Carla (Rick) Swain, Rio Grande, Ohio; Jimmy (Lynette) Saunders, Godfrey, Illinois; Jerry Lee Waugh, Xenia, Ohio; Sharon (Will) Sheets, Gallipolis, Ohio and Bruce (Pam) Waugh, Columbus, Ohio. Also, twelve grandchildren: Rick (Sonja) Swain; Heather (Nick) Robinson; Rev. Matt (Becca) Swain; Casey (Kim) Waugh; Gina Waugh; Ryan (Rachel) Shafer; Trevor (Megan) Shafer; Stephanie and Josh Waugh; Jeff, Jason (Heather) and Joe Saunders; thirty one great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves a dear brother, Howard R. Waugh, Gallipolis; a daughter-in-law, Jeri Ann Ernest and nieces and nephews whom he loved so much as well as some very special neighbors.
He lived in Guyan Township, Ohio for over 43 years and operated a small farm before moving to Rodney, Ohio. He was employed thirty years by Gallipolis Developmental Center (GSI) as a Supervisor; Haskin-Tanner Clothiers, Gallipolis for thirteen years and he was also employed by Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio and the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Gallipolis. He was a former member of the Gallia County Local School Board of Education for eight years as well as a former member of the Jackson-Gallia-Vinton Vocational School Board. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church, Crown City, Ohio. In later years, he faithfully attended Faith Baptist Church, Rodney, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by brothers, Homer and Merrill and sister, Jewell Steele.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, June 21, 2014 in the Faith Baptist Church, 3615 Jackson Pike, Rodney, Ohio with Rev. Matthew Swain and Rev. Jim Lusher, officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Crown City, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the church Friday 6:00-8:00 PM. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis is honored to serve the Waugh Family.
