Mary “Auntie” Elizabeth Dawson, 97

Mary “Auntie” Elizabeth Dawson, 97, of Gallipolis, passed away at 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014 in the Holzer Assisted Living. Born November 1, 1916 in Ashland, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Kittie Purvis Dawson. After 42 years of service she retired from being an administrative secretary for General Refractors in Grayson, Ky. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gallipolis and her to her special friends she was known as “Auntie.”

She is survived by her special friends, Jane Ann and Ed Slagle and family, of Gallipolis, Jackie Davies and family, of Dublin, Oh., Lakshmi and B.S. Priyanath and Family, of Chicago, Il., Chris Slagle, Stacy Lawson, Jamie Riley, Morgan Asbury, Sahana Sanyal, Aparna Gupta.

In addition to her parents Mary is preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Elliott Dawson, Timothy Albert Dawson, Thurston Marion Dawson.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Centenary Cemetery with Lay Pastor Ann Moody officiating and interment will follow. Friends may call one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the Cremeens Funeral Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made by visiting Cremeens Funeral Home of Ohio.
