Wendell Ray Brown, 85
Wendell Ray Brown, 85, Wilkesville Community, passed away at Jenkins Care Community on August 3, 2014. He was born on July 17, 1929, in Wilkesville, Ohio, to the late Roy Denver Brown and Sylvia Esta Jones Brown. He served in the United States Marine Corp., a retired steelworker of Kaiser Aluminum for more than 23 years, a 35 year member of Orphans Friend F&AM Lodge #275, Wilkesville and a lifetime member of Joseph Freeman American Legion Post #476 of Wilkesville.
Wendell is survived by a son, Roy Charles (Rita) Brown; step-daughter, Brenda “Sis” Vickers; step-son, Mike L. (Ann) Johnson, all of Wilkesville, Ohio; brothers; Paul Leroy Brown, Jackson, Ohio, David Milton (Oeida) Brown, Onsted, Michigan and Samuel Cleon (Ilene) Brown, Swartz Creek, Michigan; and sister, Laura Mae Steele, Tampa Bay, Florida; one grandchild, Donella Jean Brown, Delaware, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Billie Jean Stewart Brown, who he married in Wilkesville, Ohio in 1950, and wife, Reva Mollohan Johnson, who he married in 2001, brother, Herbert Alvin Brown, and sister, Arlene Choate.
Services will be held at McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 6, 2014, with Deacon Bob Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park with full Military Graveside Rites. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Masonic Services will be conducted at the funeral home 7:00 P.M. Wednesday by Orphans Friends F&AM Lodge #275 of Wilkesville.
