Connect Appalachia Broadband Initiative Teams Up to Help Students
The Connect Appalachia Broadband Initiative (CABI) Fund established at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, seeks to address the digital divide facing rural Appalachian Ohio. The Fund is supported by Connect Ohio with the generous support of individuals, foundations and corporations including Intel Americas and Chesapeake Energy.
In the fall, when the Hocking Hills are at their finest, we pick a Saturday when Ohio State is not playing football, to host a fundraising concert at the historic Stuarts Opera House in Nelsonville Ohio featuring entertainment with ties to Appalachian Ohio. Last year was a tremendous success and the near sellout crowd had a terrific time, so we have the same line-up his year on October 11, 2014 at 6pm, with Grassinine, McGuffey Lane and Jonathan Edwards.
All proceeds from the concert will support the CABI mission and this year’s primary recipient will be Computers for Students, a non-profit in Meigs County that delivers devices to students in need with the commitment that they will perform well in school. We have delivered 34 computers so far and 55 more being shipped. With your help, our goal is to reach 100.
Please join us for a wonderful event and help support this vital mission.
