Classes cancelled as some buildings remain closed at OSU following active shooter situation
COLUMBUS – At 11:14 a.m., The Ohio State University Department of Public Safety issued a statement that the shelter in place was lifted, but several buildings remain closed following the cancellation of classes.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the scene is now secure, and law enforcement will continue to have a visible presence on campus.
All academic classes on the Columbus campus have been cancelled for the remainder of Monday, November 28, 2016. The campus remains open but the following buildings will be closed until further notice. Faculty and staff in these buildings only can go home.
Building Closures include: CBEC; Nineteenth Ave, 140 W (Old Koffolt); MacQuigg; Watts; Fontana; Smith; McPherson; Celeste; Newman Wolfrom Lab; Evans; Arps Garage ( can leave via 18th Ave. exit, but cannot enter); Arps Hall; Ramseyer; and East Regional Chilled Water.
Additionally, all CABS service, except the MC Express, is suspended. Service will be provided between RPAC and Buckeye Village.
