RAVENSWOOD, W.Va. – “Ground shakin’, smoke spewing, mud flingin’ fun is coming to the Jackson County Junior Fairgrounds,” according to promoters of the Saturday, June 17, 2017 event in Cottageville, WV. The evening hosted by the Ravenswood FFA will feature truck and tractor pulling from vehicles around the area. The event will certainly be popular with farming aficionados. My only advice would be to leave your new tractor from Fastline.com at home.

This truck and tractor pull is the second largest fundraiser of the year for Ravenswood FFA. “Last year we had over 100 hooks,” commented Tara Tatalovich, Agricultural teacher and FFA advisor for Ravenswood High School. “We get great support from the community. Local people know this event goes to the purchase of equipment the FFA students need to remain one of the strongest chapters in the state and nation.”

Pullers from surrounding counties and states including Meigs County, Ohio are expected to be in attendance making this event one of the largest being held in the region. Gates will open at 2 p.m. with the pull starting at 4 p.m. Tickets are $8 per person with children under the age of 10 receiving free admission with a paid adult. Concessions will be available.

Classes to run in Cottageville include 5500 Modified Farm Stock Tractors, 5800 Pure Street Gas, 6000 Modified Stock 4×4 Gas, 5800 Cheater Stock 4×4 Gas, 8500 Pure Street Diesel 4×4, 6500 Street Stock Gas, 6200 Cheater Stock 4×4 Gas, 6200 Modified Stock 4×4 Gas, 8000 Modified Diesel 4×4, 9000 Turbo Farm Tractor, and 8000 Hot One Ton Diesel 4×4.

The Ravenswood FFA Truck and Tractor Pull is open to any drivers who love a good challenge according to organizers. Entry forms will be accepted on the day of the pull. The entry fee is $25 per hook with the first 25 to register receiving a free event t-shirt.
