June session of Meigs County Grand Jury hands down indictments
(Editor’s Note: An indictment by a grand jury does not mean the individual is guilty of a crime. It is part of the legal process. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.)
Meigs County Prosecuting Attorney James K. Stanley has announced information on those indicted by the Grand Jury on June 14, 2017.
Multiple indictments on drug related charges were filed.
Michael Bailey, 27, of Rutland, was indicted for Trafficking in Drugs (Suboxone), a felony of the fifth degree, Possession of Drugs (Suboxone), a felony of the fifth degree, Illegal Use of Food Stamps or WIC Program Benefits, a felony of the fifth degree, and Resisting Arrest, and a misdemeanor of the second degree.
Angel Barker, 29, of Middleport, was indicted for Trafficking in Drugs (buprenorphine), a felony of the fifth degree, and Possession of Drugs (buprenorphine), and a misdemeanor of the first degree.
Anthony Doerfer, 33, of Pomeroy, has been indicted for Trafficking in Drugs (Cocaine), a felony of the fifth degree, Possession of Drugs (Cocaine), a felony of the fifth degree, Trafficking in Drugs (Cocaine), a felony of the fifth degree, and Possession of Drugs (Cocaine), a felony of the fifth degree.
Brian Woodgerd, 59, of Pomeroy, was indicted for Possession of Marijuana, a felony of the fifth degree, and Cultivation of Marijuana, and a felony of the fifth degree.
Several people were also indicted on charges related to being under the influence, assault and theft.
Harvey Brown II, 33, of Bidwell, Ohio, has been indicted on charges for Assault of a Peace Officer, a felony of the fourth degree, Assault of a Peace Officer, a felony of the fourth degree, Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence, a felony of the fourth, Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence, a felony of the fourth degree, and Resisting Arrest, a misdemeanor of the second degree.
Ricky Jeffers, Jr., 30, of Pomeroy, was indicted for Receiving Stolen Property, a felony of the fourth degree, Theft, a felony of the fifth degree, Forgery, a felony of the fifth degree, Forgery, a felony of the fifth degree; and Failure to Appear, a felony of the fourth degree.
Eric Morris, 44, of Middleport, was indicted for Felonious Assault, a felony of the second degree, Felonious Assault, a felony of the second degree, Resisting Arrest, a misdemeanor of the second degree, Assault, a misdemeanor of the first degree, and Criminal Damaging, a misdemeanor of the second degree.
George Pendleton IV, 34, of Bidwell, for was indicted on one charge of Receiving Stolen Property, a felony of the fourth degree.
Lisa Pierce, 57, of Tuppers Plains, was indicted on charges of Assault on a Peace Officer, a felony of the fourth degree, Assault on a Peace Officer, a felony of the fourth degree, Assault, a felony of the fourth degree, and Domestic Violence, and a misdemeanor of the third degree.
Steven Pierce, 30, of Racine, was indicted on one charge for Felonious Assault, a felony of the second degree.
Russell Starcher, 57, of Pomeroy, indicted for Attempted Murder, a felony of the first degree, and Felonious Assault, a felony of the second degree.
Melissa Swisher, 35, of Middleport, was indicted on one charge for Theft, a felony of the fifth degree.
Several others were indicted on such charges related to weapons under disability, failure to notify the court, and non-support of dependents.
Iyendai Brown, 24, of Columbus, Ohio, was indicted for Having Weapons Under Disability, a felony of the third degree.
Stephanie Stover, 45, of The Plains, Ohio, was indicted for Non-Support of Dependents, a felony of the fifth degree;
Jacob Patton, 36, of Chillicothe, Ohio, has been indicted for Failure to Notify Change of Address, a felony of the third degree.
Jeremy Manley, 29, of Middleport, was indicted for Non-Support of Dependents, a felony of the fifth degree.
Jason McCarty, 41, of Wellston, Ohio, was also indicted for Non-Support of Dependents, a felony of the fifth degree.
