Public Meeting on Hazard Mitigation in the County Set
POMEROY, Ohio – The Meigs County Emergency Management Agency, as part of the Meigs County Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee, will hold a public meeting on May 16, 2018, in the Emergency Operations Center meeting room at 41859 Pomeroy Pike, Pomeroy, OH 45769. The meeting will be at 6 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to review updates to the county’s hazard mitigation plan. Members of the public will be given the opportunity to comment on the hazards most affecting them. As part of this plan update, Meigs County intends to discuss flood-specific risks and potential flood mitigation projects. Those with a concern about flooding in the local area are encouraged to attend.
The Meigs County Hazard Mitigation Plan was last updated in 2011 per federal requirements in Section 322 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, as enacted by Section 104 of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000.
