Pullins named Field Athlete of the Week
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Marietta College sophomore Laura Pullins (Long Bottom, Ohio/Reedsville Eastern) was named Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week on Jan. 14, 2019 by the league office.
Pullins opened the 2018-19 indoor track and field season at the Marietta First Glimspe meet on Saturday (Dec. 8). Pullins broke the Marietta College women’s indoor high jump record as she cleared a height of 1.69 meters (5’6.5″), which earned her first place honors.
Most recently Pullins competed in the Marietta Open on Saturday (Jan. 12). She once again won the women’s high jump, as she cleared a height of 1.73 meters (5’8″). The jump broke her own school record and is currently the second best mark in NCAA Division III this season.
Marietta will return to the track Saturday (Jan 19) when they host the Pioneer Open.
