POMEROY, Ohio - Meigs County and the surrounding areas are under a Winter Weather Advisory through 7 p.m. on February 1, 2019.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Meigs County and the surrounding areas due to the mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches have fallen or are expected to fall across southeast Ohio and northern West Virginia. The total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches expected across the northeast mountains of West Virginia, with isolated higher are amounts possible.

Total ice accumulations of a light glaze are expected. The Winter Weather Advisory includes portions of southeast Ohio and central, northeast, northern and western West Virginia.

Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commute. Check the Meigs Independent Press for up to date information on school closings.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
