Easter Egg Hunts set around Meigs County

MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio – It is that time of year again for Easter Egg Hunts around the county. Organizers have been preparing for weeks to make the events possible and supplied with plastic eggs, prizes and goodies for area youth.

The Easter Egg Hunts are organized below by date of the events.

April 13

Racine Library Easter Egg Hunt

The annual hunt of the Meigs County District Library at the Racine Branch will begin at 11 a.m. Age groups for the Easter Egg hunt are: one to five years of age; five to eight years; and nine to 12. Participants are reminded to bring a basket to collect eggs. There will be refreshments and a prizes. The event is sponsored by Friends of the Library.

Syracuse Fire Department Easter Egg Hunt

The Syracuse Fire Department will once again be hosting the annual event with separate age groups for the kids to hunt eggs in. Multiple bikes will be given away and the Easter Bunny will make an appearance for pictures.

April 20

Columbia Township Fire Department

The Columbia Township Fire Department will be hosting the event for the third year at the fire station located at 29446 State Route 143, Albany, Ohio. There will be prizes, treats, and the Easter Bunny will make an appearance as well. The Egg Hunt for kids will feature ages three to 12.

Reedsville Easter Egg Hunt

The annual Reedsville event will take place at the Belleville Locks and Dam and will begin at 11 a.m. The event is hosted by the Reedsville Fire Department.

Tuppers Plains Fire Department Easter Egg Hunt

The Tuppers Plains Fire Department will once again host their annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Tuppers Plains Ball Fields. Sign ups will be from 10 a.m. to noon. The Egg Hunt begins at noon. Age groups will be: babies; toddlers/walkers; three to five; six to nine; and 10 plus. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for pictures.

Easter Eggstravaganza

The Refuge Church is sponsoring an Easter Eggstravaganza on the Pomeroy Parking Lot with registration beginning at 3 p.m. The event begins at 4 p.m. There will be 3,000 eggs for children to gather. Age groups for the Easter Egg Hunt are: zero to three; four to six; seven to 12. Additionally, there will be free food, games, inflatables and live music.

April 21

Middleport Easter Egg Hunt

The annual event sponsored by the Middleport Fire Department and the Middleport Business Association will take place in a different location this year. This year the event will be held on Middleport Football Field next to the Meigs Senior Citizens facility. In addition to the Easter Egg Hunt, there will be games and the Easter Bunny will be there as well. Anyone wishing to make a monetary or candy donation to the event may drop off their donation at Tuckerman’s on Lincoln or the Middleport branch of Home National Bank during regular business hours up to April 19.
