Tea Party Makes Donation to Law Enforcement Agencies

POMEROY, Ohio – The Meigs County Tea Party recently made donations to area law enforcement agencies.

The group donated gift baskets of snacks and drinks to the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office, Pomeroy Police Department, Middleport Police Department, Rutland Police Department, Syracuse Police Department, Racine Police Department, Gallia County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The purpose was to let the law enforcement officers know they are appreciated according to the Tea Party.

According to Terri Blackwood with the Meigs County Tea Party, “We support our law enforcement officers and deeply appreciate all that they do to serve and protect our communities! We feel it is extremely unjust that some people have chosen to judge the entire profession based upon the behavior of a few. They face dangers, difficult situations, split-second decisions, unfair bias, disrespect, long hours, and hard shifts, dealing with the worst of society to keep us safe. In light of all the negativity hurled against them in the past few weeks, we wanted to do something positive to show our appreciation.”

Racine Village Marshal Michael Hupp noted, “With everything going on now days. It’s nice to know that law enforcement in southeast Ohio, especially Meigs County still has support from the community and I appreciate the goodie basket.”
