Meigs COVID-19 update: Four additional related deaths reported

POMEROY, Ohio – The Meigs County Health Department is reporting 19 additional confirmed and three probable case of COVID-19 in Meigs County. Meigs County currently has 96 active cases, and 1,330 total cases (1,193 Confirmed, 137 Probable) since April. Additionally, there are four more deaths being reported associated with COVID-19.

Unfortunately, the Meigs County Health Department is reporting the deaths of four Meigs County residents associated with COVID-19. This includes one in the 60 to 69-year-old age range, one in the 70 to 79-year-old age range, and two in the 80 to 89-year-old age range. This brings the total deaths associated with COVID-19 in Meigs County to 31.

The Meigs County Health Department is pleased to announce an additional 18 Meigs County Residents have recovered from COVID-19. This brings to total recovered cases in Meigs County to 1,203.  

Residents are asked to refrain from calling the Health Department for questions regarding these cases as they complete disease investigations, contact tracing, and notify relevant individuals. The cases and individuals identified as contacts of these cases will be advised to self-quarantine in accordance with CDC guidance.
