Meigs under winter weather advisory, more snow expected

RACINE, Ohio – Meigs County and the surrounding areas are once again under a winter weathers advisory this week from the National Weather Service. The advisory is in place from 7 p.m. on Feb. 17 until 5 a.m. on Feb. 19.

Snow is expected with accumulation of 2 to 4 inches. The advisory covers southeast Ohio and northern West Virginia. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commute.

NOAA Forecast for Feb. 17 to Feb. 21:

Feb. 17 – Wednesday
High 29 – Low 22
Sunny early, then becoming mostly cloudy, with a high near 29. Northeast wind 3 to 6 mph. Overnight snow, mainly after 1 a.m. Low around 22. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Feb. 18 – Thursday
High 33 – Low 26
Snow. Northeast wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow acccumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible. Overnight snow, mainly before 11 p.m. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 90%. new snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Feb. 19 – Friday
High 31 – Low 10
A 30% chance of snow showers, mainly before 8 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. West wind 5 to 9 mph. Overnight mostly cloudy with temperatures dropping to around 10.

Feb. 20 – Saturday
High 27 – Low 12
Mostly sunny, with a high near 27. Overnight partly cloudy with temperatures once again dropping to around 12.

Feb. 21 – Sunday
High 41 – Low 32
Partly sunny, with a high near 41. Overnight rain and snow likely, mainly after 3 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
