The Church Mouse: Keeping Christ in Your Heart

“So remember what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent Therefore if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.”

– Revelation 3:3

“I think I can, I think I can…”

Remember those words from the Little Engine storybook?

I was watching TV the other night and saw this in a commercial. I do not remember the product being sold; because my mind wondered down a different track.

I started thinking about how the engine could only work if everything was in proper working order.  Let me explain.

If you do not have oil in the engine will get hot and lock up or blow up. If there is no water, some engines will overheat and stop working. And the battery must be charged up so we can start the engine. Oh, we cannot forget fuel! Without fuel you cannot start the engine or go anywhere. So while having the key or a key fob to start the engine is important without oil, fuel, water, and a battery we are not going anywhere.

It is the same way with our Christian walk in life. We can watch religious programs on TV. We can go to church. We can read the Bible. We can live a good life. We can even pretend to others that we are Christians….But if we have  failed to ask Jesus into our hearts and lives…Well, we are not going to make it to heaven! So ask Jesus to come live in your heart today.

Prayer— “Dear God, Forgive us when we sin. Help us to always be found trying our best to do your will. Remind us to share your love and message with others. Help us to remember that we need to speak with you daily. Thank you for our many blessings. In the precious name, of Jesus our Savior we pray, Amen.”
