Kathy Sue (Haley) Smith

Kathy Sue (Haley) Smith, beloved mother, wife, grandma, sister, and friend, departed this life into her eternal home and life on Saturday, January 15, 2022, in Columbus, Ohio surrounded by her loving family. Kathy loved teaching children so much that she would have given anything to continue teaching forever, but unfortunately after 23 years of teaching, she had to retire. She also enjoyed teaching and coaching T-ball teams as well as the challenges of crossword puzzles and solitaire games.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father; Robert Earl Haley, mother; Carolyn Sue Haley Young, brother; Robert Michael Haley, three uncles, two aunts, and Ben Haley.

She is survived by her loving husband; Granville (aka. Grant) H. Smith whom she married on December 19, 1998, daughter; Haley-Beth N. Smith, sister; Barbara Ann Doczi, sister-in-law; Vicki Haley, aunt; Judy Miller, aunt and uncle; Judy and Bob Caruthers, several nieces and nephews, several grandchildren, stepchildren; Chris Holsinger, Justin Bocook, Sarah Smith, Adam Smith, and Melissa Donley, ex daughter-in-law; Ashley Pooler, and friend; Melissa Buck.

Kathy will forever be loved and missed by those knew and loved her. Family asks in lieu of flowers, donations/condolences be sent to 400 Mulberry Ave., Pomeroy, OH 45769.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, Ohio.
