The Church Mouse: Put God Back

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land” – 2 Chronicles 7:14

I went to the grocery store the other day and saw something that bothered me. I saw an elderly couple on standing in a aisle staring at almost empty shelves. There was only a few items on the shelf, and they were just staring at the shelves and whispering to themselves. Their cart, held only a couple of items.

This made me stop and think. First of all, we live in the richest country in the world, and yet, we have empty shelves. There was no bread or milk and very little meat; and was available was very expensive. This elderly couple no doubt, probably was on a fix income. It concerned me. I thought will they have enough to eat?

As I walked by them. I said, “Wow the shelves are really bare.” To which lady replied, “Yes they are. But, we’ll with get by the Lord’s help.”

I went to the checkout and left the store I’m not even sure I got what I came for; I was thinking about what that lady had said to me.

When I got to my vehicle I asked the myself this question. What has happened to our Country? We have empty shelves, food shortage, prices for groceries are through the roof, gas prices are outrageous, and that the cost of heating is…unmentionable.

I sat in silence for a few minutes in the parking lot, I realized, we have dropped the ball. We have allowed our moral standards to go from what use to be wholesome on TV to trash. Up is down, and down is up. Evil is good, and good is evil. Satan no longer hides. He out in the open and we (the church) don’t seem to care and we certainly have nothing to correct this; if anything we have looked the other way.

We have taken God, out of everything, and now we are wondering, what has happened? What we have failed understand is that double standards makes people directionless.

I believe the answer is to put God back in His rightful place. FIRST in all things.

The government is not our moral conscience….God is!

So let’s…

Put Him back in our schools.

Put Him back in our court system.

Put Him back in the White House.

Put Him back in the nucleus of the family.

As Americans, we need humble ourselves and cry out to God, and He will heal our land. We need to CRY out. We need to pray for a move. We need God to bring a healing to our country. However, I must remind us, (myself included) that this movement MUST start with prayer and it must start now, with me and you.

Prayer-

Father God I thank you that you supplies all my needs. Thank you for my many blessings. Father, forgives us when we fail you. Help us Father God, to turn our land back to you. Help me Lord to be brave and bold and a faithful witness for you. I ask this in the name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior. Amen.
