Ronald (Sam) Brooks Carpenter Jr., 68

Ronald (Sam) Brooks Carpenter Jr., 68, died peacefully in his sleep at Pleasant Valley Hospital February 6, 2022. Sam was born in Charleston, WV September 7, 1953. Sam was employed by AEP for 32 years where he met many lifelong friends and colleagues that will remember him for his fun times and back yard engineering. For many years, Sam was an avid gardener, wood worker, and for a few years enjoyed building and racing his 1977 Granada.

He was the only child and was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Brooks Carpenter Sr. and his mother, Georgia Carpenter. Sam was residing in Racine, OH and is survived by his devout and loving wife of 33 years, Diana Sue Carpenter. He is also survived by his sons Ronnie Carpenter (wife Sacha), Ben Carpenter (wife Tara), step daughter Kara Driggers (husband Dean), and daughter Mandi Givens. Along with grandchildren Jack Carpenter, Emily Casto, Vinny Carpenter, Dakota Padgett, Sully Carpenter, Zeke Carpenter and great granddaughter Lielah Casto. Sam will be lovingly remembered by sister-in-law Anita Musser (husband Jeff), brothers-in-law John Porter (wife Debbie), and Mark Porter (wife Misty). Uncle Sam to many nieces and nephews and was loved dearly by his great niece Molly who was always able to make him smile.

A private viewing will be held for family at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Homes at Sam’s request. Condolences to the family may be conveyed by signing the online registry.
