Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for June 13, 2022

UPDATE – There is a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 1 a.m. on June 14, 2022. Weather conditions can be rapidly changing. Be aware of your surroundings and changing conditions.

RACINE, Ohio – The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Meigs County and the surrounding areas.

The Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 8:30 p.m. Severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Groveport to near Piketon to 6 miles northeast of Vanceburg, moving east at 55 mph. Additionally, radar indicated 60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail were noted.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
