Fair Receives Donation from 4-Hers

ROCKSPRINGS, Ohio – The Meigs County Agricultural Society received a donation for grounds repairs from three 4-H members. The trio held a bake sale to raise the money.

Paige Smith, Jocelyn Tucker and Lindsay Robinson are all taking the 4-H project ”Lets Start Cooking”. Smith told the Meigs Independent Press that they were all looking at the various learning opportunities in the book. One of the options was to hold a bake sale. The trio set up for three hours at Powells in Pomeroy. Their sale included peanut butter no bake cookies, regular no bakes, zucchini bread and other items. Together the sale brought in $130 which was presented to the Meigs County Agricultural Society board members during the July 11 meeting at the fairgrounds. The donation was to help with electrical upgrades or flooring in the 4-H building.

The projects available in 4-H vary greatly, but each one has activities that promote leadership and community involvement.
