Alleged Drug Paraphernalia Discovered During Traffic Stop in Rutland
RUTLAND, Ohio – One male is now in custody following a traffic stop in the Village of Rutland.
According to Rutland Police Chief Kyle Calendine, while on patrol during the evening of July 12, 2022, Rutland Police observed a motor vehicle traveling west bound on Main Street without a working tag light. The motorist turned onto Depot Street where a traffic stop was initiated.
Upon making contact, it was discovered that the driver, Dustin Hershberger, was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver license. Additionally, a warrant for Hershberger’s arrest had been issued prior to the traffic stop. Hershberger was taken into custody without incident and 33 Auto Towing was notified for impounding of the vehicle. During inventory of the vehicle, a suspected meth pipe was discovered and entered into evidence, according to the statement.
Hershberger was cited by Rutland Police for driving under suspension and received a summons to Rutland Mayor’s Court for possession of drug paraphernalia.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
