Meigs County and Surrounding Areas Under Flood Watch Through Friday

RACINE, Ohio – The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Meigs County and the surrounding areas now through Friday morning.

Excessive runoff may result in flooding in rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.

Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will affect the area through Thursday night. Rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches are expected by weeks end, with localized higher amounts possible. Be aware of changing weather conditions.

In addition to Meigs County, other areas under the Flood Watch include portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, southwest Virginia and West Virginia.
