Open Studio
The Riverbend Arts Council will host an open studio event on from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your own supplies and lunch. Cost for studio space is $10. The Riverbend Arts Council is located at 290 N. Second Street in Middleport.

Meigs Heritage Festival
CANCELLED – The Car Show has been cancelled due to expected inclement weather. The Meigs Heritage Festival Car Show had been scheduled to be at the Chester Commons from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

October 1
Plant Exchange, Q&A
The Riverbend Arts Council is hosting a plant exchange along with a question and answer session titled “Putting Your Plants to Bed for Winter.” The event begins at 10:30 a.m. with a plant exchange. Chili will be available for lunch for $3 a bowl. The Riverbend Arts Council is located at 290 N. Second Street in Middleport.

Letart Township Trustee Meeting
The regular Letart Township Trustee Meeting will be Monday, October 3, 2022 at the Letart Township Building at 5 p.m.

October 6
RACO Games
The Racine Area Community Organization (RACO) will have a fundraiser at 6 p.m. in the Syracuse Community Center. The games are 20 games for $20. For tickets and information contact Sherry Werry at 740-416-1324, Tonja Hunter at 740-508-0044, or Kim Romine at 740-992-7079.

October 8
Fall Festival
The Mid-Valley Christian School will hold a Fall Festival from 4-6 p.m. at the 500 N. Second Avenue in Middleport. Tickets are five for $1 or .25 cents each. Entrance is one donation per person to be donated to local food pantry of non-perishable goods. Activities include a chili cook off, cake walk, face painting, escape room, games, concessions and laser tag. For more information call 740-992-6249.

Scare at the Fair
A haunted house experience will be held from 7-10 p.m. at the Meigs County Fairgrounds at 41850 Fairgrounds Lane, Pomeroy, Ohio, 45769. Proceeds to benefit the fair and upkeep of grounds. Cost is $5 per person.

An Evening of Acoustic Music
The Riverbend Arts Council presents and evening open to any acoustic artists. Open to any acoustic instruments, any skill level and starts at 6:30 p.m. The event is free to the public. Refreshments will be available.

October 24
Mad Madam Mim’s Marvelousy Villainous Dinner
Beginning at 5 p.m. experience dinner with assorted villains at Wolfe Mountain Entertainment in Pomeroy, Ohio. Ticket price is $28 per person. Menu includes mini cheeseburgers, personal pizzas, macaroni and cheese, seasonal fruit, drinks and Halloween themed desserts. There will be games, photos and more. Dine with your favorite villains. A Dinner to Die For Haunted Experience
Wolfe Mountain Entertainment will hold “A Dinner to Die For” at 5 p.m. Tickets are $25. The menu includes salad and rolls, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green bean cassarole along with Halloween themed desserts and assorted drinks. Regular Meetings

Meigs County Board of Commissioners Meeting
The County Commissioners meet every Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Board of Commissioners offices at the Meigs County Courthouse. The office is now located on the second floor.

Library Events

Fourth Fridays of the Month
Inspirational Book Club
The Inspirational Book Club meeting will be at the Pomeroy location of the Meigs County District Public Library from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Riverview Room. The group reads one book per month and meets on the fourth Friday of each month to discuss the title.

Second and Fourth Tuesdays
Acoustic Night at the Library
Acoustic Night at the Library is every second and fourth Tuesdays of the month Pomeroy Library. Musicians are invited to play and sing a variety of music including bluegrass, light rock, country, and gospel. Singers are also welcome. All skill levels are invited to attend. Beginners are encouraged to learn from experienced players.

Every Wednesday
Needlework Network
The Needlework Network is a group of fabric artists who meet each week at the Pomeroy Library to work on their projects, share tips, and socialize. New members and visitors are always welcome. Bring your current projects to share with others. Veteran knitters will be available to provide assistance, and learners are always welcome. Yarn, knitting needles and crochet hooks are available for practice. All types of needlework welcome including quilting, embroidery, crochet, knitting, sewing, needlepoint and more. The group meets each Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Riverview Room at the Pomeroy Library.
