Patrol Investigates a Fatal Crash in Gallia County

Patriot – The Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle crash that was reported on County Road 130 on March Ist, 2023 at approximately 7:40am.

A 2009 Acura TSX being driven by 34-year-old Steven E. Craig of Patriot, Ohio, was traveling northbound on County Road 130 when it drove off the right side of the roadway and overturned into a creek. Craig was pronounced deceased on scene by the Gallia County Coroner.

CR 130 was shut down for approximately three hours during the initial investigation. Other agencies on scene included: The Gallia County Sheriff’s Office, Gallia County EMS, Harrison Township Fire Department, Rio Grande Fire Department, The Gallia County Coroner, Stapleton’s Towing, and Willis Funeral Home. The crash remains under investigation.
