May 2023 numbers in for Click It or Ticket Summer Holiday Enforcement Program

Meigs County Sheriff Scott Fitch announces the enforcement results from May for Click It or Ticket month.
This enforcement program is part of the Summer Holiday Enforcement Program Grant through the Ohio Traffic Safety Office.The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office received a grand total of $12,173.06 for 34 hours to conduct High Visibility Enforcement Activities in areas of Meis County in an effort to reduce fatal crashes. In the
Click It or Ticket efforts for the month of May, deputies worked a total of 4 hours of over time with the following results: Deputies conducted 57 traffic stops while working the overtime grant and issued 35 citations for speeding and 1 citation for reckless operation. The primary area being worked during this program is US-33 between Pine Grove Road and the Ravenswood Bridge. Deputies also conducted traffic stops on State Route 7 as well as US-33 to the Athens County Line.
The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office will continue efforts to reduce fatal crashes from July 1″ through July 4th as part of the overtime funding received for the Summer Holiday Enforcement Program Grant. Sheriff Fitch would like to remind everyone to obey all traffic laws and buckle up for safety.
