POMEROY, Ohio- On Wednesday June 28, 2023 Meigs County Sheriff’s Office and the Major Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at 43094 State Route 124 Racine, Ohio. The warrant was a result of a investigation by task force agents,into drug trafficking from that residence, said Meigs County Sheriff Scott Fitch.
Entry was made to the residence by task force agents and deputies, who detained multiple individuals and conducted a search. While searching the residence Sheriff Fitch said, approximately five ounces of methamphetamine in addition to large amounts of heroin, fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and cash were found. According to task force agents one individual attempred to get rid of the drugs that was in their possession.
Taken into custody at the scene was Stony Day, 42 of Pomeroy, Ohio. Day was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, tampering with evidence, and trafficking in drugs. Also taken into custody was Carissa Layne, 42, of Pomeroy, Ohio. She was arrested and charged with possession of drugs, trafficking in drugs, and possession of methamphetamine. Two other individuals were detained and later released afted the conclussion of the search warrant.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
