Paul Michael “Mike” Nease, 68, of Pomeroy, went to be with the Lord, at 11:26 a.m. on Sunday, August 20, 2023, in the Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. Born February 9, 1955, in Gallipolis, he was the son of the late William Nease and Virginia “Chick” Gibbs Nease Oiler.

He graduated from Southern High School in 1973, and became an accomplished football, basketball, and baseball player during his time in high school. After graduating Mike, joined the United States Air Force, and was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base, in Alamogordo White Sando, New Mexico. After his enlistment he returned to Meigs County and worked for G and J Auto Parts Company until his retirement in 2017. He loved sports, fishing, playing cards with his friends and playing his guitar.

He is survived by his children, Cassie (John) Will, and Jennifer Gilkey, both of Middleport, grandchildren, Bryce Will, Tessa (Grayson) Herman, Tyler Gilkey, Haley Will, and Brianna Will, great-grandchildren, Aidynn Sands, Silas Will, Raylynn Vance, and Aria Will. A brother, Mitch (Karen) Nease, of Owasso, Oklahoma, a sister, Karen Lyons Teaford, of Pomeroy, nieces, Melanie Lyons Hall, Amber (Kenny) Layne, Nicole Nease, nephews, Ryan (Whitney) Nease, Kyle Nease, grandnieces and grandnephews, Mara, Krake, and Cameron Hall, and Rachelle Layne, cousins, Brigitte (Kenny) Soles, and Barbara Sheets, and longtime friends, Ike Spencer, Ralph Gueltig, and Henry “Pal” Lyons Jr. also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Racine with Pastor Mark Marrow officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Greenwood Cemetery, Racine.
